The Role

IT TECHNICAL MANAGER

Salary £33,024 - £36,648 (NJC Grade 8)/ 37 hours per week / 52 weeks / Macclesfield based

Join our highly effective IT team at a ten school multi-academy trust. We provide quality IT support to around 5,500 students and staff maintaining the IT infrastructure, printers, mobile devices and software to minimise downtime during the busy school day.

The main duties of the role are to resolve escalated incidents and act as an escalation point for our 1st/2nd Line Service Desk IT Technicians. Ideally, we are looking for strong technical knowledge of Microsoft platforms (server, desktop, Office 365) in a multi-site environment holding a relevant Microsoft certification. An understanding of Fortinet technologies would be useful.

We are looking for someone who has some experience of supervising the workload and professional development of a team of IT Technicians. You are likely to have 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.

You will also be a key member of the IT project teams when we roll out new systems and products.

The working environment in a school is dynamic and no two days are the same. We are mindful of work-life balance and the working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to 4.00pm with a 3.30pm finish on Fridays. We want great team players who always focus on making sure the students and staff are fully supported but no out-of-hours working is required in this role. We use the school holidays to carry out project and reconfiguration work.

In addition to a nationally negotiated salary, the Trust offers a generous local government pension scheme with a 21.7% employer contribution, a cycle to work salary sacrifice scheme and 26 days holiday rising to 31 days per year with service plus paid Bank Holidays. There will be opportunities for professional development within the Trust.

You will have an induction to help you to settle into school life and be supported by a collaborative IT team with a strong teamwork ethic.

The Fallibroome Trust is committed to safeguarding children and young people and therefore the successful candidate will be subject to stringent vetting procedures, including an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service Check (DBS).
